How to read an edge before you bet

A simple framework for comparing public odds with your own probability view.

A betting edge starts with the gap between the market probability and your own fair probability. Odds Coach makes that gap easy to see by placing the market-implied probability next to an AI probability estimate — but seeing the gap is only the first step. The discipline is in the questions you ask next. Why does the gap exist? Markets are usually not far wrong, so a large edge often means either you know something the market has not priced yet, or you are missing something the market already understands. Which is more likely? Second, what could invalidate the edge? Read the risk notes attached to the market. An edge that depends on a single upcoming event, thin liquidity, or one fragile assumption is far less reliable than one supported by several independent factors. Third, does the trade fit your bankroll plan? Even a genuine edge should be sized so that a bad outcome cannot seriously hurt you. An edge tells you a bet may be worth making; your bankroll rules tell you how much to risk. Only when the answer to all three questions is satisfying does the edge become a decision worth acting on.
